Job description:
The Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) is a leading center in personalized medicine in oncology, with a team of more than 800 professionals: clinical and preclinical research staff, oncology specialists, nurses, research support, and administrative support staff, all working together to develop new and effective treatments for cancer patients.
We are currently looking to incorporate an Innovation Officer for the Innovation Unit.
Main tasks:
- Provide tailored advice and support to VHIO research groups on matters related to innovation, including technology transfer, intellectual property, and business development.
- Promote a culture of innovation within the business environment.
- Support the drafting, preparation, and submission of innovation-focused grants and funding proposals, working closely with VHIO research groups and external partners.
- Foster collaborations with external R&D partners from academia, biotechnology, industry, or public organizations to generate value for VHIO’s innovation strategy.
- Identify early-stage innovation opportunities in oncology and hematology.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem.
- Assist in the negotiation of agreements with pharmaceutical companies and other research organizations.
Requirements
- University degree or PhD in Life Sciences.
- Knowledge of the stakeholders and the innovation system within biomedical research environments (local, national, and international).
- Specific knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with funding instruments and innovation grant schemes.
- Excellent spoken and written skills in English, Spanish, and Catalan are essential.
- Basic understanding of legal, intellectual property, and compliance frameworks relevant to research valorization.
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear and compelling narratives (particularly in grant and proposal writing).

Experience and knowledge
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Innovation Technician in a biomedical research organization.

Conditions:
- 📝Permanent contract.
