Job description:
The Experimental Hematological Group is seeking a skilled, organized, and motivated and team-oriented bioinformatician postdoc. The role will involve working with genomic and transcriptomic data obtained from patients diagnosed with lymphoid malignancies (chronic lymphocytic leukemia and NHL mainly). The main focus is the analysis of single cell multi-omics data.
The researcher will have the support and resources from the Bioinformatics Unit at VHIO.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and integrate high-throughput sequencing data (initial focus on scRNA-seq and ATAC-seq).
- Develop and apply computational pipelines for genomic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic studies.
- Collaborate with wet-lab scientists and clinicians to design experiments and interpret results.
- Contribute to biomarker discovery and predictive model development.
- Support data visualization, reporting, and dissemination of findings in publications.
Requirements
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or similar.
- Experience in Genomics and Cancer
- Fluent in R, Phyton and Bash (GNU/Linux) scripting. Other programming languages will also be valued.
- Advanced understanding of genomics technologies and their analysis workflows, particularly related to WGS, WES and targeted sequencing.
- Understanding of analysis of multi-omics single cells (10X Genomics and Parse Biotechnologies)
- Knowledge of statistical tools for biological data analysis.
- Advanced level of English, written and spoken.
Valuable additions:
- Professional experience relevant to the position.
- Experience in version control programming (e.g. Git) and hosting (e.g. GitHub).
- Experience in HPC environments, including Slurm and container systems (e.g. Docker or Singularity).
- Experience in Nextflow or similar workflow managers.
- Familiarity with statistical modelling, machine learning and deep-learning
