About the group:
The Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Cancer and Endocrine Tumors Group, led by Dr. Jaume Capdevila Castillon at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO), is seeking a motivated and team-oriented laboratory technician to join the Neuroendocrine and Endocrine Tumor Translational Research Program (NET-VHIO), led by Dr. María Belén Elguero.
NET-VHIO focuses on translational research in neuroendocrine and thyroid tumors, combining patient-derived xenograft (PDX) and organoid models with molecular and cellular biology approaches to study mechanisms of drug resistance and identify new therapeutic strategies

Job description:
We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to provide technical support across the active research projects of the Neuroendocrine and Endocrine Tumor Translational Research Program (NET-VHIO). The successful candidate will contribute to day-to-day laboratory activities, supporting sample processing, experimental procedures, quality control, and laboratory documentation according to the needs of the program's projects.
Working closely with the lab technician and the postdoctoral researcher, the successful candidate will help ensure the continuity and smooth running of daily laboratory operations. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing translational program with long-term technical responsibilities, while continuing to develop technical laboratory skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Support sample processing, including PBMC isolation and preservation
Support the maintenance and monitoring of patient-derived organoids, under supervision
Assist with cell culture tasks: media changes and cell expansion
Support basic molecular biology procedures (tube labeling, solution preparation) and, progressively, additional molecular biology techniques
Monitor reagent and consumable stock levels and alert the team when supplies need to be ordered
Support general laboratory organization and maintenance
Required Qualifications:
FPII/CFGS or bachelor’s degree in a bioscience-related field (Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or similar)
Basic laboratory experience in cell culture and/or molecular biology techniques
Organized, reliable, and team-oriented
Ability to follow established protocols with attention to detail
Desirable / Nice-to-Have:
Previous experience with cell culture
Basic knowledge of molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR)
