Job description
We are seeking to recruit a “Junior Academic & Training Officer” to work in the VHIO Academy (Maternity Leave cover, e.g., 6–9 months).
The Junior Academic & Training Officer will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of activities related to VHIO Academy's Scientific Training and Academic Programmes.
The post-holder will work closely with the Research Culture & Development Officer and the Academic Officer to ensure the smooth delivery and continuous improvement of educational, training and international talent attraction initiatives.
Tasks:
The main responsibilities (although not exclusive) for this position will include:
- Support the Research Culture & Development Officer in all the scientific educational initiatives organized for young researchers, in particular doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
- Training support: To provide support in the organization and development of training activities promoted by the Area (course registration, expedition of certificates, support in compiling training and academic indicators, etc.).
- Support the Academic Officer in the coordination of international talent attraction actions.
- Recruitment assistance: To support the Head of the Unit and the Academic Officer with recruitment processes.
As our ideal candidate, you will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy and to pro-actively handle all the tasks. You will also enjoy contributing to dedicated projects in line with the future strategic development of the VHIO Academy.
The candidate must have the following requirements:
- A university degree.
- At least one-year experience in the management of educational affairs.
- Experience in the management of educational programmes will be a plus.
- Proven experience in a research institute will be an asset.
Languages:
- Very good command (spoken and written) of English, Spanish and Catalan
Computer skills:
- Strong IT knowledge (user level)
Competences:
- Demonstrated effective organizational skills and the ability to work in an independent and proactive manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this position, as is the ability to establish effective channels of communication with a large variety of stakeholders
- High degree of service orientation
